When it was announced that the 2020-2021 school year would begin virtually, with social distancing, masks, and plexiglass partitions, a group of elementary school parents came together, desperately wanting a better school experience for their children. They envisioned a neighborhood school that would provide children with a strong, Bible-based education. Research shows that this generation of children, more than any other before, is hyper-focused on determining their identity and seeking to find who they are. Thus, Christian education has never been more critical, and the Alamo Heights community desperately needed a school that would commit to carrying God’s Word through all of the curriculum in every classroom.
Their mission was clear: to teach Biblical truth, guide students in discovering God’s plan for them, challenge students academically, and equip them to stand firm in their faith. With the help of experienced teachers, a strong curriculum, and amazing families volunteering their time and resources, Alamo Heights Christian School was founded at the St. Andrew’s Church campus.

At that time, St. Andrew’s Church had a preschool program, but the church board and senior pastor, Michael Crocker, had been praying and dreaming about expanding the program to educate older children as well. With its success and rapid growth, Alamo Heights Christian School and St. Andrew’s Church merged to become one, better serving the growing community needs.
St. Andrew’s School is a non-denominational private Christian school that serves students from preschool through 8th grade, delivering a high-quality academic education coupled with strong Bible teaching in all areas of the school day. Over the past four years, enrollment has surged by 150%, and we believe this is just the beginning of the plans God has in store for His school.
