A Parent's Perspective on St. Andrew's Church and School: A Journey of Faith and Growth

  • 2 min read

As a parent, choosing the right school for your child is one of the most significant decisions you'll make. For us, this journey led us to St. Andrew's Church and School, and it's been a decision that has brought immense joy and satisfaction to our lives. My name is Ross Studer, and my son Sawyer, who is two and a half years old, attends St. Andrew's Church & School. I’d like to share our experience and the reasons why we are so grateful for this wonderful community.

Our journey to St. Andrew's began somewhat unexpectedly. Initially, we had enrolled Sawyer in another popular school in our community, the kind of place everyone sends their kids. However, one day, as we were leaving a service at St. Andrew's Church, it struck us—why not send Sawyer to the school associated with our church? After all, Reverend Crocker had married my wife and me, baptized Sawyer, and we were active members of the congregation. It felt like the right choice, and looking back, it was one of the best decisions we ever made.

One of the most unique and special aspects of St. Andrew's is its Christian-based education. This foundation aligns perfectly with the values we strive to live by daily. In today's world, where such grounding can often feel like a lost art, having our child in an environment that nurtures these principles is invaluable. The school’s commitment to a faith-centered education is not just about academics; it's about shaping character and instilling lifelong values.

Moreover, St. Andrew's fosters a strong sense of community and parental involvement. As parents, we have the opportunity to engage with the school on various levels, contributing to our child's educational experience and building a supportive network. This level of involvement is something we deeply appreciate and find quite unique.

Sawyer’s experience at St. Andrew's has been nothing short of wonderful. He loves his teachers and speaks about them with such affection. It's evident that he is happy and content, which is the most important thing for us as parents. He starts each school day with a big smile, eager to learn and interact with his peers. Even at his young age, we can see the positive impact the school's environment has on him.

The Christian values taught at St. Andrew's are not confined to the classroom; they extend into our daily lives. The school’s core values—love God, love people, do your best, and have fun—are simple yet profound principles that Sawyer is already beginning to embody. He is growing up to be a kind and sweet boy, and we believe these values play a significant role in his development.

In conclusion, our family’s experience with St. Andrew's Church and School has been overwhelmingly positive. The decision to send Sawyer here has enriched our lives in ways we couldn't have imagined. The nurturing environment, strong community, and faith-based education make St. Andrew's a truly special place. We are thankful for this journey and look forward to seeing Sawyer continue to grow and thrive in this exceptional setting.
